I was employed full time as an archaeological researcher focusing on the analysis of over 17,000 lithic artefacts excavated on Lambay Island by Prof. Gabriel Cooney.

During term I worked as a tutor with first year archaeology and irish studies students.

I also worked as a researcher on a number of projects including Behy court-tomb and Mesolithic sites at Belderrig, Co. Mayo, Leshemstown, Co. Westmeath and Warrenfield in Scotland. I mainly carried out lithic analyses but I also worked with GIS for some of the projects.

I worked as a supervisor on a month-long excavation of a mesolithic site in Belderrig Co. Mayo. As well as excavating I carried out and supervised EDM surveys of the surrounding landscape.

Chairperson/Editor

I served as the chairperson of the Association of Young Irish Archaeologists. As part of this role I was on the organising committee for the annual conference and I co-edited the subsequent proceedings.

Volunteer

2007                     School of Life

In 2007 I travelled for five months in India and Nepal. During the trip I undertook Volunteer work in the School of Life, Varanasi where I worked with local street children. I also worked as a volunteer in Mother Teresa’s home for the elderly, sick and abandoned, Varanasi.

Outreach


Outreach Activities: In April 2008 I gave a series of 'taster talks' in archaeology as part of the UCD Stepping Stones programme for primary school children
